NEUM, March 23 (FENA) - The FBiH Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Džindić emphasized the importance of energy transition and the drafting of a legal framework to make the transition as successful as possible.
"We have prepared a set of reform laws, the Law on Energy, the Law on Electricity, the Law on Energy Efficiency, the Law on Southern Interconnection, the Law on natural gas. These are the key laws after which the Federation of BiH will fully meet all the requirements of the European Energy Community and the requirements of the European Union," said Minister Džindić in Neum at the Energy Summit 2022.
He added that the agreement was that one of the mentioned laws be adopted one by one at the sessions of the FBiH Government.
"We have certain problems related to the failure to adopt the state law on electricity and gas. An additional analysis was made by the USAID team along with the Ministry. Certain shortcomings of the proposal that has been in the process have been detected, and we hope that we will be able to reach the final draft of the law on electricity and gas, which is much needed both for us and because of the agreement with the state and the RS authorities on the path to the European Union," said Džindić.
Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić said that, according to leading economists on the planet, reliable production and energy supply will be one of the key factors for development, security and sovereignty of world economies.
"As far as BiH is concerned, we have adopted the Energy Strategy, and our intention is to create a reliable, efficient, competitive and long-term sustainable energy system, which would gradually and systematically go through the transition to clean energy and renewable energy sources where BiH has very good potential," stated Zvizdić.
