Borrell to visit Sarajevo next week on Western Balkans tour

BRUSSELS, March 13 (FENA) - The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell will visit North Macedonia, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina from March 13 to 16, it was announced from Brussels.

"The visit will reaffirm the European Union's commitment and support for the region, given Russia's war against Ukraine and its impact on Europe's security as a whole," Radio Free Europe reported on Saturday, ahead of Borrell's Western Balkans tour.
 
He will be in Skopje on Monday, where he will meet with North Macedonian President Stevo Pendarovski, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski and other senior officials.
 
It is added that Borrell will also attend an event where representatives of civil society and youth organizations will present their participation in the Conference on the Future of Europe.
 
The EU High Representative will travel to Tirana on Tuesday to meet with Prime Minister Edi Rama and other officials, and during a visit to Albania, he will visit theworks on the restoration of the mosaic of the National History Museum, which has been renovated with EU funds for earthquake recovery.

In Sarajevo on Wednesday, the High Representative will first visit EUFOR troops, whose capacity has almost doubled, and then meet with representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina's authorities, the opposition and civil society.
