SARAJEVO, March 8 (FENA) - Sarajevo is the cheapest capital city in Europe for renting real estate, according to a recently published research by a British real estate agency "CIA Landlord".

The agency researched which are the cheapest capital cities for renting real estate by analyzing various parameters in 38 European countries.

As they stated, rental costs have been slowly rising over the last few decades, and some cities cost more than many people can afford.

The research showed that for renting real estate in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is necessary to set aside 225 British pounds (about 530 KM) per month while renting real estate in Athens requires about 363 GBP (about 855 KM).

Renting a property in Zagreb requires 970 KM per month while living in the capital of Slovenia - Ljubljana requires 1,288 KM, and in Budapest 838 KM per month.

If you’re looking for a place with warm summers, a rich culture and low property prices Sarajevo is the place to be for you.

The capital of Montenegro, Podgorica, is the second-cheapest European city to rent your own bit of personal space.

For a one-bed flat in the center you can expect to pay 276.40 GBP (650 KM) on average, or 201.61 GBP (480 KM) for a condo that’s less centrally located.

The average renting price per square metre was determined by dividing the monthly rates by 50, as the worldwide average size of a 1-bed flat is 50m2.

All data was collected from city-specific pages on numbeo, combined with data from the World Happiness Index.
