SARAJEVO, March 8 (FENA) - Deputies from Our Party in the FBiH Parliament on the occasion of the International Women's Day, March 8, held a press conference at which they said that violence against children and women can no longer be tolerated and mildly punished in the FBiH Criminal Code.
That is why the deputies of Our Party proposed amendments to the FBiH Criminal Code, which will be discussed tomorrow at the session of the House of Representatives.
“We have proposed 45 amendments. Among them, we envisioned the introduction of a new crime "sexual harassment" to make it easier to prove the crime,” said the President of the Human Rights Committee in the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament Milomirka Melank.
Our Party's deputies demand that the removal of perpetrators of violence from the household be legally introduced when there is a danger of violence recurring.
President of Our Party caucus in the House of Representatives, Sabina Ćudić, urged the Government of the Federation of BiH to include the Proposal of the Law on Material Support to Families with Children on the agenda of the session tomorrow.
“We have been waiting for five years for the adoption and implementation of this law which equalizes the status of mothers and families with children in the Federation of BiH, and it is the only place in Europe that does not regulate this issue. We do not need congratulations from the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH on March 8, we need essential equality before the law. I call on my colleagues to support the provision of support for families with children at tomorrow's session,” said Ćudić.
