SARAJEVO, March 7 (FENA) - A five-day course of the Regional Center for Security Cooperation (RACVIAC) on "Agreement on Subregional Arms Control (Dayton Agreement Article IV)" began today, organized by the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
RACVIAC Director Jeronom Bazo and BiH Assistant Minister of Defense for International Cooperation Zoran Šajinović opened the course together with the members of the Center for Verification of Weapons Data on Armed Forces of the Region, as well as representatives of competent ministries.
In their addresses, they stressed the importance of mutual arms control of the countries of the region in the process of stabilizing trust and peace throughout the region.
The Agreement on Subregional Arms Control between BiH, Montenegro, Croatia and Serbia is implemented on the basis of Article IV of the Dayton Agreement and implies constant and planned mutual military inspections in each of the countries, as well as verification of reported weapons.
The course ends on March 11, 2022, and is attended by about thirty representatives of the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs and members of verification centers of the Armed Forces of BiH, Montenegro, Croatia, Serbia, North Macedonia, Austria, France, Greece, Italy, Germany and the Republic of Korea, stated the Ministry of Defense of BiH.
