SARAJEVO, January 19 (FENA) - President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović said after today's session of the Collegium that there is no agreement on holding a meeting of the leaders of the three nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the presidents of the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Serbia, and that this is a misinterpretation.
“It is actually a long-agreed trilateral meeting between BiH, Serbia and Turkey. BiH will be represented by institutions, not by representatives of parties or peoples,” said Izetbegović.
Izetbegović added that this trilateral meeting should happen soon, and that BiH will represent the Presidency of BiH.
Speaking about the announced continuation of talks on changes to the Constitution and the Election Law of BiH, the SDA President said that the chances of reaching an agreement are very small.
“In much better atmosphere 15 or seven years ago we did not succeed. Now in this one inflammatory state I do not believe we can achieve this, but we will not reject friends from the international community. If the representatives of the State Department and the European Commission ask us to sit down and talk, we will do it with the best intentions,” said Izetbegović.
He reiterated that the SDA's views on changes to the Constitution and electoral legislation have not changed, stressing the need to achieve changes that would remove the blockades in the FBiH, making the entity's government functional.
