SARAJEVO, January 7 (FENA) - The FBiH Government today, at a telephone session, passed a Decision that the minimum wage for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2022, has been determined in the net amount of 543 KM.

Thus, according to earlier promises and announcements, the minimum wage has been increased, which will be higher by 136 KM or 33.56 percent as of January 1, 2022.

In addition to the monthly salary, most workers in the Federation of BiH are also entitled to non-taxable benefits such as hot meals, transportation and recourses, thus making the Federation of BiH unique in Europe in this aspect.

These benefits average 174 KM per employee, so an increase in the minimum wage guarantees a total income that is significantly higher than the minimum wage and which will be at least 717 KM per month for most workers.

Furthermore, the new regulations now guarantee that the minimum wages will be adjusted annually depending on the growth of the economy and prices, starting from 2023.

After the Parliament of the Federation of BiH adopts new fiscal laws, preconditions will be created for even higher growth of the minimum wage without harmful consequences for the economy and employment, stated the Government of the FBiH.
