SARAJEVO, December 24 (FENA) - The traditional recording of a Christmas greeting and a press conference of the Archbishop of Vrhbosna and the President of the Bishops' Conference of BiH, Cardinal Vinko Puljić, were held today at the Archbishop's Residence in Sarajevo.

On this occasion, the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljić, read a Christmas message, which he signed together with the Archbishop Coadjutor, Monsignor Tomo Vukšić.

On this occasion, Archbishop Puljić reminded that the Archdiocese of Vrhbosna, feeling the need to awaken the spirit of communion and common walk in the faith, and the need to renew everything in Christ, celebrated its first synod.

"Now we are greeting Christmas, when God has stepped on our life path, incarnating and being born as a child. Thus began His walk among us and for us. We rejoice in this manifested and gifted love of God. But in this, we recognize the call for us to reconcile personal and common walk with him. That is why we took the motto of our synod "Renew everything in Christ".

There is no renewal in Christ where pride, arrogance, and selfishness reign. In order to really celebrate Christmas and experience Christmas, we need to accept our human limitations, sinfulness and our dependence on God's love," underlined Archbishop Puljić.

Archbishop Vinko Puljić drew attention to the fact that the present time is perceived as stressful and tense due to political skirmishes and ignoring the man, his rights and dignity.

"Strange unrest has crept into people, the media and the public. In addition to the truth that the powerful are playing with the little man, there is still uncertainty about Covid -19. On the contrary, Jesus incarnated and was born to bring peace to man in conscience, in soul and in society. But today's man has not realized what is important for human peace," said the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljić.

He also reminded that every year the aggressive consumer mentality in public tries to "steal Jesus", and on the occasion of Jesus' birth, various bazaars are being opened and cultural events are organized, but Jesus is not there.

"By sending you this Christmas message, we want to encourage you in the faith and encourage you to be open to the peace that Jesus brings. May this peace of Christ reign in your conscience, in your families and in your environment, so that the celebration of Christmas shines with strong faith, firm trust and joyfully lived love.

In order for this peace of Christ to be visible, it is necessary to create mutual reconciliation, forgiveness and trust. In this spirit, we wish you a Merry Christmas, which will fill your hearts with grace, so that faith may be a joyful experience of the birth of Jesus.

May the birth of Jesus bring you the joy of communion and harmony in love. We especially wish Merry Christmas to the sick and feeble, as well as to all those who are in old age, for the birth of Jesus to bring you comfort, strength and a firm hope in life," said, among other things, Cardinal Vinko Puljić, with Christmas congratulations and blessed New Year of 2022.

On this occasion, Puljić thanked everyone who extended congratulations to him and all the Catholics on the occasion of the Christmas holidays.
