TUZLA, December 21 (FENA) - The Vice President of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Academician Mirko Pejanović, dedicated almost ten years of his life to the research for his latest book "The Statehood of BiH in the 20th and 21st Centuries", which was promoted today at the Faculty of Law in Tuzla.
Dean of the Faculty Amir Karić, Denis Bećirović and Kadrija Hodžić spoke about the book, especially emphasizing the importance of discussing this topic in a difficult political moment for Bosnia and Herzegovina when the state's stability is being challenged and secessionism has been announced.
The book is intended for all those who will be educated about the political system and state system of Bosnia and Herzegovina but also deals with the historical development of BiH. It will be helpful to high school students, university students and academia, but also to those involved in the development of BiH society.
According to the author Pejanović, the book contains about 15 special studies that were created during the research and they are united in the form of synthesis and present the state and political development of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 20th and 21st centuries.
Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Tuzla, Amir Karić, said that now was the right time to discuss this topic, given the complexity of the political situation in BiH and the onset of the secession of the entity of Republika Srpska.
Karić added that such activity has already started and the promotion of such a book is an opportunity to call on all competent authorities to take this fact into account because it is a type of legal violence and unconstitutional action that needs to be stopped until it escalates into other forms of violence.
Among other things, Pejanović talks about the weaknesses and limitations of the post-Dayton organization of BiH, but also suggests what to do in the 21st century, and it is important to keep in mind these long-term messages, especially the fact that Pejanović proposes accelerated BiH accession into the European Union and NATO.
The book is comprised of several parts, which speak about the statehood of BiH through the idea of ZAVNOBiH (World War II, restoration and building of the statehood), the second part of the book is the pluralization of BiH society and its citizens and gaining international recognition, the third part is about the defense of BiH and the fourth is the post-Dayton political development and the future of BiH.
