SARAJEVO, November 9 (FENA) - Search and rescue training exercises in nature and urban areas for rescue teams operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina were held on Mount Igman in cooperation with the BiH Ministry of Security and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA)
The protocol signed between the Ministry of Security of BiH and TIKA, from October 25 to November 6, 2021, includes training for search and rescue educators in nature and basic training for search and rescue in urban areas for rescue teams in BiH.
A total of 55 rescuers from the FBiH Civil Protection Administration, the RS Civil Protection Administration, Mountain Rescue Service of FBiH, Mountain Rescue Service Foča, Jahorina and Brčko District completed the training, and adopted uniform standards and methods for rescuing persons.
Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to BiH Sadik Babur Girgin, Head of the Structure and Training Department of the BiH Ministry of Security Samir Huseinbašić and TIKA Coordinator in Sarajevo Muhammed Unal attended the ceremony of awarding the certificate to the participants and training instructors.
Ambassador Girgin pointed out that this training is an example of how services can be trained for emergency response in case of need. He added that Turkey, which also faces natural disasters, wants to share experiences and knowledge, which can be of great benefit to rescue services and people living in BiH, the BiH Ministry of Security said.
