SARAJEVO, October 22 (FENA) - An agreement between the FBiH Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts (FMRPO) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), initiating a joint scheme to support the digital transformation of small and medium enterprises in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was signed today in Sarajevo.
The FBiH Minister of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts Amir Zukić said that the funds, in the total amount of 270,000 KM, for the implementation of the incentive scheme, were provided by UNDP through the DigitalBIZ project and the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He emphasized that the selection of projects will be made on the basis of a public call published by the FMRPO.
"Our wish is to try to support all those who want to follow the digitalization trends in the difficult business conditions caused by the pandemic, which is a condition for successful competitiveness, appearance on foreign markets and resistance to crises," Minister Zukić pointed out.
He explained that the assistance goes in three directions, primarily assistance in improving the digitalization process, training of staff who will manage the digitalization process, and creating conditions for those who have not started with digitalization, and they will start.
He emphasized that the amount of assistance is up to 20,000 KM per beneficiary, with a 30 percent share.
The UNDP Resident Representative in BiH Steliana Nedera said that according to their program, economic development is a priority.
"We want this economic development to be modernized, inclusive, green and digital. We recognize that there are major technological changes around the world and that all industries will be more successful if they accept digital solutions in their business," she said.
Nedera said they want to support small and medium-sized enterprises to adopt digital solutions, which would increase market competitiveness and improve their position in the international market.
She believes that it is very important for all economies to focus on digital and green solutions after the pandemic, which would make great progress.
"This scheme is intended for small and medium enterprises that are owned by women and, in order to strengthen women's entrepreneurship," Nedera pointed out.
The cooperation will be initiated in order to strengthen the digital economy in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, increase the competitiveness and growth of small and medium enterprises, and strengthen resilience to the crisis caused by the COVID-19.
