SARAJEVO, October 18 (FENA) - The final ceremony of the European Union Twinning project entitled "Empowerment and further support to EU parliaments in Bosnia and Herzegovina in European integration" was held today in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The ceremony, which summarized the results of the EU Twinning project, was attended by members of the collegium of both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the chairman of both houses of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Speaker of the Assembly of the Brčko District of BiH, representatives of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and, on behalf of the consortium that conducted the Project, presidents and senior officials of the Hungarian National Assembly, the Austrian National Council and the Croatian Parliament.
The twinning project, funded by the EU with 2.3 million euros and lasting 30 months, provided support to the parliaments of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the aim of more successfully fulfilling the tasks related to European integration.
On behalf of the consortium that successfully implemented the project, the President of the Hungarian National Assembly László Kövér, the President of the Austrian National Council Wolfgang Sobotka and the President of the Committee for Regional Development and EU Funds Marko Pavić addressed the audience at the closing ceremony.
Ekaterina Dorodnova, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Zoltán Horváth, Project Manager from the EU Member State, spoke about the continuation of the European integration process in BiH, and the importance and results of the Project.
As part of the Twinning project, the EU Resource Center for Parliaments in BiH was launched.
