SARAJEVO, September 28 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković sent a note of urgency to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zoran Tegeltija (Alliance of Independent Social Democrats - SNSD) urging him to schedule a session Council of Ministers of BiH.
“I am convinced that you are aware that the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina violates the legal obligation to ensure the functioning of institutions by adopting the Decision on interim financing of BiH institutions in a situation when the budget has not been adopted,” she said.
Turković, who is also the deputy chair of the Council of Ministers, called on Tegeltija to schedule a postponed session in July without delay in order to adopt the decision and continue working on all other issues of interest to BiH citizens.
There is still no announced telephone or regular session on the official website of the Council of Ministers, although Chairman Tegeltija held several meetings with BiH-accredited ambassadors yesterday, which could indicate the return of political representatives from Republika Srpska to state institutions.
Political representatives from the Republika Srpska entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina are boycotting work in state institutions after former High Representative Valentin Inzko imposed amendments to the Criminal Code on July 23 banning genocide denial and glorification of war criminals, which is why Tegeltija does not schedule a session.
The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina should adopt a Decision on quarterly interim financing of BiH institutions, which would ensure payments from the budget by the end of the year, since the previous decision expires on September 30, and the budget of BiH institutions and international obligations for 2021 has not passed all required procedure.
