SIPA arrests two border police officers for corruption in employment procedures

SARAJEVO, September 24 (FENA) - Under the order of the prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) are conducting activities related to raids of persons and facilities, as well as deprivation of liberty in the area of the Sarajevo Canton and the Central Bosnia Canton, in connection with the criminal offense of misuse of position or authority, related to the criminal offenses of receiving gifts or other forms of benefit.

Dozens of SIPA police officers are on the ground, whose work is coordinated by the acting prosecutor who is at the SIPA premises, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH announced.

Three persons have been arrested, two of whom were Border Police officers.

Activities are carried out within the investigation of corruption in connection to employment procedures in the BiH Border Police.

The SIPA will also search the official premises of the BiH institutions.
