MOSTAR, August 10 (FENA) - HDZ BiH President Dragan Čović held a working meeting in Sarajevo today with newly appointed High Representative Christian Schmidt to discuss the situation in BiH.
The officials emphasized the expectations from the current non-election year, stabilization of political dialogue, progress on the EU and NATO path and the elimination of existing discrimination at all administrative and political levels, the HDZ BiH announced.
Čović highlighted changes to the BiH Election Law and limited constitutional changes.
They will, he said, provide a much-needed step forward and institutionally protect equality and legitimate representation.
"It is high time to eliminate the existing discrimination against all residents in our homeland and to stabilize the dialogue to the end," said Čović.
BiH's path towards the European Union and NATO is the backbone of the work of Croat political officials, he said during the talks.
He added that the perspective of a developed and European BiH must be supported by constructive work, respect for the reached political agreements and unquestioning respect for the principles of constituency, equality and legitimate representation.
