FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, July 21 (FENA) - Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fadil Novalić, attended the commemoration in Kozarac yesterday on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance for the victims of war crimes in Prijedor in 1992.

A collective funeral of the remains of 12 victims, buried in the Martyrs' Cemetery in Kamičani and Čarakovo, was held on the plateau of the Kamičani Memorial Center.

Their remains were exhumed from the mass graves at the Korićanske stijene site, Tomašica, Hrastova Glavica, as well as at the sites of Kozarac - Garevci and Jablanica - Prosara.

So far, the remains of the killed Prijedor citizens have been found at 499 locations, in 73 mass graves, primary and secondary, in the area of 10 municipalities and three different countries.

“A terrible crime has been committed in this area. That must never be forgotten. I join the appeals of the victims addressed to all who have any information about the locations of the graves to tell them, so that all the victims can find their peace with dignity. And the horrors from the area of Prijedor must be a warning that killings, persecutions and crimes will never happen to anyone ever again,” said Prime Minister Novalić.

Yesterday's funeral and commemoration was also attended by the FBiH Minister of displaced persons and refugees Edin Ramić, and FBiH Minister of agriculture, water management and forestry Šemsudin Dedić, the FBiH Government's Press Service announced.
