SARAJEVO, June 23 (FENA) - President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Arif Alvi signed a Readmission Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Pakistan, which created the conditions for its implementation, the Presidency of BiH confirmed for FENA.

This important document has now been ratified by both countries, which means that it has entered into force. The BiH Presidency ratified the document on April 16th.

By concluding this agreement, BiH and Pakistan confirm their readiness to engage in international actions to prevent illegal migration, because the Agreement regulates the issues of admission of their own citizens, third-country nationals and stateless persons residing in the territory of a contracting party contrary to their laws.

This is an extremely important agreement for BiH, which in recent years has become a very interesting country for illegal migration in the direction of the "Balkan route" in the chain of countries through which the process of smuggling of persons, narcotics, vehicles and other forms of organized crime takes place.

Last year, Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Selmo Cikotić and Minister of Internal Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Ijaz Ahmed Shah signed a Readmission Agreement and an accompanying Protocol that will enable the return of illegal migrants from BiH to Pakistan.
