SARAJEVO, May 30 (FENA) - The Citizens' Association "Witnesses of their time" is organizing the jubilee Peace March Sarajevo - Nezuk - Srebrenica, entitled "March in memory of the victims of genocide of the United Nations protected zone".
Participants will take part in an eight-day march of more than 280 kilometers in memory of several thousand Srebrenica residents who in July 1995 walked the path of nearly 100-kilometer road to find salvation in Tuzla.
One of the organizers of the march, Muhamed Papić, told FENA that the applications for participation have been completed, but that, respecting all epidemiological measures, they have decided to limit the number of participants this year as well.
“A total of 18 participants from all parts of BiH, as well as friends from Turkey, will leave Sarajevo for Potočari on July 3,” Papić pointed out.
He said that the march is organized in memory of the innocent citizens killed in Srebrenica, but also those from the places they will visit along the way.
“Our goal is clear and that is for genocide never to happen to anyone again and for no one to suffer like the people of Podrinje did, but also the people of entire BiH,” Papić said.
