TRAVNIK, April 11 (FENA) - Polling stations in Travnik municipality closed at 7 pm, confirmed to FENA the president of the Travnik Municipal Election Commission Hajrudin Alibašić, noting that 12,827 citizens, or 27.3 percent of registered voters, took to the early mayoral elections that were held today.
"That is a small turnout, especially if we keep in mind that 50.6 percent of voters went to the polls last year," Alibašić said.
The candidate of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) was Kenan Dautović, while Haris Kaniža was nominated by the coalition "Our Travnik Story", which consists of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) of BiH, the People and Justice Party and Our Party.
The decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH to repeat the mayoral elections in Travnik was made after the candidate Mirsad Peco, who received the most votes, passed away on the day of the local elections in BiH, November 15 last year.
