SARAJEVO, March 22 (FENA) - The Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton today adopted amendments to the Law on Mitigation of Negative Economic Consequences of the Covid Pandemic in the canton by urgent procedure.

The SC Minister of Finance Davor Čičić explained that due to the worsened epidemiological situation in the Sarajevo Canton, the amendments to that law will enable the payment of compensation to all those who are banned from working by the government's decision, more precisely hospitality sector and caterers.

He pointed out that the government will provide funding for all or part of the minimum monthly net salary at the level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for those months of 2021 for activities that are significantly hampered due to the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, in accordance with the secured funds.

Čičić said that the government, at the proposal of the Ministry of Economy, would adopt a special act on the financing procedure no later than ten days from the day this law enters into force, and that the government, by its decision, could approve the payment of taxes and contributions to the minimum monthly net salary at the FBiH level for the duration of the ban.

The Minister of Economy of the SC, Adnan Delić, said that there are 1,781 business entities operating in the canton, which employ about 6,174 workers.

He pointed out that in 2021, 123 entities stopped working, and that 1,292 workers lost their jobs, and added that the closure of 15-day catering facilities would cost the budget around two million KM.
