SARAJEVO, February 2 (FENA) - An Italian citizen tried to smuggle 11 migrants across the BiH state border on Saturday.
Namely, on Saturday, police officers of the BiH Border Police found an Italian citizen in the BiH border zone and warned her that she was in a protected area and informed her that she is not allowed to illegally cross the state border, after which the Italian woman left the protected area.
On the same day, she was again found in the border zone, this time together with 11 migrants, citizens of Afghanistan, BiH Border Police confirmed for FENA.
Considering that it was determined that they were already registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina, they were removed from the border zone and sent to the temporary reception center "Miral" in Velika Kladuša, while the citizen of the Republic of Italy after a repeated warning of the police officers of the BiH Border Police was removed from the protected area.
“She was not detained, however, a criminal report is being considered, considering that she encouraged migrants to cross the state border illegally,” confirmed the Spokesperson of the BiH Border Police, Franka Vican.
According to Croatian media, she is an Italian journalist who covered the visit of a group of Italian members of the European Parliament to Croatia.
