SARAJEVO, January 11 (FENA) - The US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that the flag in front of this diplomatic mission was flown to half-staff in honor of the injured police officers who secured the Congress building, as well as in honor of all other US police officers.
“As a sign of respect for the service and sacrifice of United States Capitol Police Officers Brian D. Sicknick and Howard Liebengood, and all Capitol Police Officers and law enforcement across America, the flag of the U.S. is flown at half-staff until sunset, January 13, 2021,” US Embassy in BiH published on its Facebook page.
Sicknick died from injuries sustained in Wednesday's riots. He collapsed shortly after returning to his ward and died Thursday night at the hospital. Officer Howard Liebengood was also reportedly killed, but it has not been confirmed whether his death was linked to violent events in front of and inside the Congress building.
