SARAJEVO, December 14 (FENA) - Distortion and abuse of my statements, with the aim of diverting attention from important processes that are happening and that will happen in the near future, will not bring anything good to anyone, said today the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković ( SDA).
The Minister commented on the numerous reactions after her guest appearance on FACE TV, emphasizing that her stance and the stance of the party to which she belongs have been known for a long time and have already caused controversy in the public on several occasions.
“The party to which I belong, but also me personally, we believe that our state would be the most functional with three levels of government - state, regional and local. Given that these political views are known and always available to the public, I see no reason for violent reactions that unnecessarily raise tensions,” she added.
Also, having in mind the different demands and reactions of many political representatives after her TV appearance, she noted that the recent events in the United Nations, before the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the US House of Representatives and the European Union, but also other announced processes, cause anxiety to those who seek to stop the progress of BiH.
“It is inadmissible and with great disgust I reject the abuse and faking of my statements, especially in which allegations were made that I insulted one nation. I denied doing that and explained what was going on,” added Turković.
However, she agreed with many reactions and demands that inflammatory rhetoric should be avoided, that each other should be respected and that the Dayton Peace Agreement should be respected.
“To begin with, I propose to stop denying the genocide of Bosniaks, to respect court verdicts, to stop glorifying war criminals, to take away military decorations from war criminals, not to constantly insult a nation by reducing it to a religious group, not to insult religious officials,” she said in a reaction published by her office.
