SARAJEVO, November 22 (FENA) - Deputy Chairs of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina - Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevanda and Foreign Minister Bisera Turković received yesterday the Vice President of the European Commission and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and discussed BiH's European perspective, 25 years after the signing of the Dayton Peace Accords.
Minister Bevanda thanked Borrell for the visit, which was successfully realized during the pandemic and the difficulties that the whole world is facing.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the obligations that BiH has in the process of fulfilling the conditions for accession to the EU and fulfilling the 14 priorities from the Action Plan from the Opinion of the European Commission.
Minister Bevanda emphasized that all levels of government must participate in the European integration process in accordance with the constitutional order, "because success will be guaranteed, which is why there is a coordination mechanism in BiH in the process of joining the EU".
According to him, European integration has no alternative and all political actors in BiH agree that the path to the EU is what will contribute to a better life for all BiH citizens.
According to Minister Turković, the European perspective is a key priority of Bosnia and Herzegovina and it is necessary to maintain constant communication with the EU institutions on important goals to be achieved.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said he expected the BiH Council of Ministers to remain committed to reforms that will allow the country to move towards the EU, and called on BiH institutions to step up the pace of reforms on the European path.
