SARAJEVO, October 27 (FENA) - Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina (TIBiH) has warned that the RS government's helicopter flew to the SNSD campaign rallies seven times during these past ten days of the election campaign.
"A member of the Presidency of BiH from the RS, Milorad Dodik used the services of the Helicopter Service of the Government of the RS on seven different occasions during this election campaign, visiting campaign rallies," TIBiH warned in a press release.
As TI BiH also noted, since the beginning of the election campaign, the BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik was present at, at least seven SNSD election rallies whose place and time coincide with the flight destinations of AW 119 helicopter owned by the RS Government Helicopter Service.
The data from the website flightradar24.com and flightaware.com, which record every flight, show that the RS Government helicopter has been flying mostly since the beginning of the campaign where the SNSD political party rallies were held, and the first were held on October 18, in Srebrenica, Bratunac, and Milići.
TI BiH warns that this is just one in a series of examples of misuse of public resources for political party purposes recorded by this organization through the monitoring of the election campaign period, and they point out that recently the misuse of official vehicles for visiting party rallies has been especially noticeable.
"However, the use of the helicopter of the RS Government for the purposes of the SNSD is the most radical example of abuse that TIBiH pointed out in previous years, and on which occasion in previous election campaigns, it addressed the RS Helicopter Service with a request for information and explanation of the purpose of such behavior, but in a response from the Service, it received an explanation that they only follow the rule of which persons have the right to use the helicopter, while the Helicopter Service does not control the very purpose of transportation," the TI BiH stated.
