SARAJEVO, October 23 (FENA) - The Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) has praised the measures taken by the BiH Air Navigation Services Agency (BHANSA) during the coronavirus pandemic.
The analysis published on the cover of CANSO's publication lists a number of measures and activities that BHANSA has taken since the beginning of the pandemic in order to get through this crisis period with as little damage as possible.
"In order to maintain financial balance, we immediately started streamlining our operations and reducing BHANSA's financial plan for 2020. By selecting priority procurements for the safe and efficient conduct of air traffic in our airspace, the vast majority of procurements for 2020 have been extended for the future period after the industry recovers. The measures included a painful reduction in employees' salaries, all in order to ensure the continuous provision of air navigation services, as well as the protection of existing jobs," said BHANSA Director Davorin Primorac.
The model applied by BHANSA is a model for other national agencies to overcome the biggest crisis ever in civil aviation.
Although air traffic is still significantly reduced, which directly affects BHANSA's revenues, this agency successfully performs all activities within its scope.
The rationalization of operations did not endanger the daily work of the Agency in any way. At the same time, no BHANSA employee lost his job. It is important to emphasize that the Rescue Plan implies the independent overcoming of the crisis without state aid in financing.
CANSO is a representative body of air traffic control companies. It represents the interests of air navigation service providers (ANSP). CANSO members are responsible for supporting over 85% of the world's air traffic, and through their working groups, members share information and develop new policies, with the aim of improving ground and air navigation services.
