SARAJEVO, September 22 (FENA) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Bakir Izetbegović received today the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Haldun Koc, and discussed the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
They emphasized the successful conclusion of negotiations on Mostar, which enabled the holding of local elections in this city.
Izetbegović said that the agreement that ensured the implementation of the elections in Mostar was realized on the principle of compromise, without ultimatums and blackmail on other topics, and that the model should be used to resolve other political issues to create a positive climate in the country.
The interlocutors discussed the need to restart the format of trilateral meetings, as well as new modalities for improving economic cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Turkey, which should result in new investment projects.
Izetbegović and Ambassador Koc emphasized the excellent relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey and said that they represent a strong factor in the overall stabilization of the situation in BiH, but also in the entire region, the Party of Democratic Action announced.
