SARAJEVO, September 2 (FENA) - The Agency for Forensic and Expert Examinations received a donation of modern forensic equipment from the European Union in the amount of about 150,000 euros within Project 58 "Provision of specialized equipment for CBRN forensics in Southeast and Eastern Europe".
The main goal of this project is to strengthen the capacity for events and incidents caused by chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear weapons and materials.
The Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU) implements Project 58. The donated equipment consists of personal protective equipment as well as a mini mobile laboratory for processing the CBRN on-site (detectors, dosimeters and other ancillary equipment for detection, measurement, analysis and identification of hazardous agents) and is intended for marking and processing of CBRN on site, collection of samples and traces from the site, detection and measurement of CBRN agents, proper packaging and decontamination of the CBRN forensic team and equipment.
Equipment donated by the EU will help raise awareness of CBRN events, as well as the successful criminal processing of CBRN on the sitem, announced the Agency for Forensic and Expert Examinations.
