SARAJEVO, August 20 (FENA) - The Platform for Progress presented today at a press conference in Sarajevo the candidates for mayors of Stari Grad and Novo Sarajevo in the upcoming local elections.
The candidate for mayor of Stari Grad is Nejira Sarajlić, a law school graduate born in 1994 in Sarajevo.
She said that the areas to which she plans to pay special attention if elected, are the economy, urbanism, tourism, but also all other issues within the competences of the municipality.
"In the campaign, I will focus especially on the promotion of a new idea and paradigm for building a better local community, and thus the country itself," said Sarajlić.
Sanel Šarić, a candidate for the mayor of Novo Sarajevo, is an economist originally from Višići near Čapljina, born in 1972.
The presentation of the candidates was also attended by the President of the Platform for Progress, Mirsad Hadžikadić, who stated that they have candidates in 36 constituencies - 322 for municipal and city councils and four for municipal mayors.
He underlined that the Platform for Progress is a party that was created from scratch and not by people joining it from other political parties, which is also shown by the fact that two-thirds of their candidates had not been not politically engaged before.
