FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, August 19 (FENA) - Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Selmo Cikotić received yesterday Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to BiH Muhammad Khalid Rao.

In addition to discussing the general aspects of long-term and fruitful cooperation between the two countries, Minister Cikotić and Ambassador Khalid Rao focused on possible aspects of cooperation between the two countries in managing migrant movements and eliminating the negative consequences of their stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ambassador Khalid Rao stressed that the IR Pakistan is willing to do everything in accordance with the provisions of international public law and laws of the two countries to help Bosnia and Herzegovina address the challenges posed by illegal migrants from Pakistan or those who present themselves as former Pakistani citizens, adding that it is often case that migrants from Afghanistan and Bangladesh, as well as from the Indian part of Kashmir, present themselves as citizens of Pakistan.

Ambassador Khalid Rao accepted Minister Cikotić's invitation to organize necessary activities after the implementation of additional insights on aspects of the crisis in order to implement the established cooperation mechanisms, especially in the direction of Pakistan's readiness to sign a readmission agreement with Bosnia and Herzegovina, so that migrants from Pakistan could later be transported to their country of origin, the BiH Ministry of Security said.
