POTOČARI, July 11 (FENA) - Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pointed out in a video message on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Srebrenica genocide that the events from July 1995 are a dark period in history that must not be forgotten.

“As we mark the 25th anniversary of that tragedy, we vow to remember and respect those who suffered and died unjustly. We mourn with the families of the victims, their friends and loved ones. We pay tribute to the survivors who continue to live with painful memories, continue to fight for truth and justice,” said Trudeau.

He emphasizes that Canada continues to be a committed member of the Peace Implementation Council, assisting Bosnia and Herzegovina in establishing a stable, multiethnic and economically viable democracy.

“We must all oppose hatred, intolerance and discrimination. By fighting for human rights around the world, we will pay tribute to the victims and ensure that crimes like this never happen again,” he stressed.
