BiH Prosecution: Controversial ventilators not recommended in intensive care

SARAJEVO, May 11 (FENA) - All ventilators from the case in connection to the alleged irregularities related to the import of ventilators were located, recorded and expert assessment was performed. The expert's report established that the procured ventilators did not have even the minimum necessary characteristics for adequate treatment of patients in intensive care units, which include patients with Covid 19, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH announced today.

“Therefore, the use of these ventilators in intensive care units is not recommended,” warned the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

The team of prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, since the beginning when they took over the case, on May 4 this year, has taken a number of necessary activities to determine all the circumstances of this procurement and intensive work continues daily.

Through the Institute of International Legal Assistance, all necessary data and information on the procurement have been obtained, expertise and documentation reviews are performed, and the prosecutor's team is in daily and constant contact with the police and security agencies that work on the case.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH will inform the public in a timely and accurate manner about the implemented activities.
