SARAJEVO, May 10 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović and member of the Presidency Željko Komšić laid flowers at the Kovači Memorial Center on the occasion of the Golden Lilies Day on Saturday.
Džaferović congratulated the citizens of BiH on the Day of Victory over Fascism, which is celebrated on May 9, emphasizing that 75 years ago, the darkest ideology that befell the modern human race was militarily defeated.
"I also want to congratulate Europe Day because BiH wants to become a member of the EU, the foundations of which were laid five years after the end of the Second World War," said Džaferović.
He reminded that May 9 is also the Day of the carriers of the Golden Lily Medal of the Army of RBiH, and he also sent congratulations and said that we should all be proud of the achievements of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Džaferović pointed out that the army fought for the true values of anti-fascism - freedom, democracy, equality and for all of us living together in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Komšić stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina, marking this date and remembering everything that had happened in the Second World War and in the last war, has long time ago chosen its side by choosing to go with civilization and the democratic world.
"In both wars, BiH suffered terribly and I think that there is no family in this country that has not lost someone in those wars," said Komšić.
He emphasized that we should be very grateful to all of them because they led this country and society to the right side of history and because, thanks to them, we were on the side of true values.
