SARAJEVO, April 28 (FENA) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zoran Tegeltija spoke via video link today with European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) President, Suma Chakrabarti about the current economic situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tegeltija pointed out that the new situation with the expansion of the coronavirus pandemic and the remediation of its consequences. It poses new challenges, has caused economic uncertainty and negative effects on the entire BiH economy, countries int the region and the European Union, as the most important foreign trade and economic partner of BiH.
Tegeltija pointed out the timely and adequate response of the institutions in BiH with the aim of saving lives and preserving the health of citizens, emphasizing that in the coming period it is necessary to adapt the existing financial support instruments and initiatives for the rehabilitation of the health sector, jumpstarting economic activities and restoring jobs.
Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH thanked the President of the EBRD for good cooperation so far and emphasized that the EBRD has always provided strong support to BiH's economic development and reform processes.
The interlocutors underlined their common commitment to continue implementing activities of mutual interest in the future.
