SARAJEVO, April 28 (FENA) - BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik said today that the abolition of quarantine at borders of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has put the BiH Council of Ministers in trouble, because it was requsted to close the border crossing where there are no quarantines due to the coronavirus pandemic.
He recalled that at the previous session, the BiH Presidency adopted a conclusion calling for the closure of non-quarantined border crossings, and BiH Presidency has now withdrawn that part on closing the border crossings.
“The unilateral behavior of the Federation of BiH is not good in this regard, but there is no willingness to condemn that behavior. All we can do now is to try to harmonize the practice in both entities through the Council of Ministers of BiH,” he explained.
He announced that quarantines would remain on the borders in the Republika Srpska especially because of the May Day holidays.
At today's regular session in Sarajevo, the BiH Presidency gave a 24-hour deadline to the BiH Council of Ministers to find a solution to this issue with other institutions.
Dodik also commented the forthcoming "European Union - Western Balkans" summit scheduled to take place on May 6, and said that several conclusions had been adopted, one relating to the formation of a task force that should adopt the document as early as Friday in response to the 14 priorities from the European Commission's Opinion so that an action plan can be drawn up.
They suggested that the Council of Ministers, through a coordination mechanism, bring together all those involved in the mechanism on European issues and consider measures for a possible action plan to be adopted within 30 days.
