MOSTAR, April 9 (FENA) - In the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, 27 fires have been reported in the last 24 hours, ten of which are still active, according to the Civil Protection Service Operations Center of the canton.
Eight fires are active in the Konjic municipality, where most of the beech, oak, pine and chestnut trees burn, along with fruit and low vegetation.
In Jablanica there is an active fire at the foot of the mountain Bokševica, while in Čitluk in Čalići grass is burning, forest and low vegetation.
Other fires in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton have been successfully extinguished.
The Cantonal Ministry of Interior has also reported a number of fires, stating that the police are aware that the fires were caused by humans and are asking all citizens to report suspected fire-related activities to the nearest police station or call the emergency telephone number 122.
Other forest fires in the vicinity have been successfully extinguished.
