SARAJEVO, March 3 (FENA) - Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sifet Podžić, received today Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ivan Sabolić, to discuss current topics in the defense sector.
Minister Podžić expressed his appreciation for the support that Croatia, as a NATO member and the country which currently chairs the EU Council, provides to BiH on the path to Euro-Atlantic integration.
He emphasized the successful bilateral defense co-operation between the two countries, noting that in 2020, 67 activities are planned, 28 in BiH and 39 in Croatia, all aimed at supporting the Euro-Atlantic path of BiH and educating members of the Armed Forces of BiH in Croatia.
Podžić briefed Ambassador Sabolić on the work priorities of the Ministry of Defense and the AFBiH in the coming period, emphasizing implementation of the BiH Reform Program as a priority, which opens space for the implementation of the Defense Review documents and the AFBiH Modernization Plan.
Minister Podžić also expressed his expectations regarding the adoption of a budget that would allow for greater investments in the defense sector.
Ambassador Sabolić expressed satisfaction with the high level and quality cooperation between the two countries in the defense sector, but also in other areas, and stressed that Croatia supports BiH on its path to EU and NATO membership.
The meeting was also attended by Assistant Minister of Defense of BiH for International Cooperation Zoran Šajinović and Croatian Military Attaché Brigadier Marin Gregorović, the BiH Ministry of Defense announced.
