SARAJEVO, February 12 (FENA) - The United States Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina urges all parties to respect the decisions of the BiH Constitutional Court and elected and appointed officials to carry out their constitutional duties.
Commenting on today's decision by the entity of Republika Srpska representatives to suspend their work in the institutions at the state level and deciding on any matter within the jurisdiction of the BiH authorities, pending the adoption of a new law on the BiH Constitutional Court, which would include no foreign judges, the Embassy told FENA that the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the ultimate authority that determines what the BiH Constitution prescribes and what it does not.
“We have yet to learn the full details of what was discussed at today's meeting in Banja Luka. Compliance with the constitutional order and constitutional obligations is not a discretion but an obligation in any country in Europe,” it is concluded in the response from the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
