SARAJEVO, February 10 (FENA) - A meeting of the Task Force on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and Organized Illegal Migration was held today in Sarajevo under the chairmanship of Chief Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office Gordana Tadić and they discussed the empowerment of the Task Force and the activities of BiH institutions in combating trafficking in human beings.
The participants of the meeting focused on the implementation of the provisions of the adopted Strategy for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings in BiH, as well as the Strategy for Integrated Border Management in BiH 2019-2023 related to the competencies of the institutions involved in the work of the Task Force for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and Organized Illegal Migration, as well as the increased number of recorded criminal offenses of smuggling people related to the migrant situation in BiH.
At the same time, they discussed the state of affairs in the field of prosecution of international trafficking offenses, as well as the criminal offenses of trafficking prescribed by the laws of the entities and Brčko District of BiH. The resolution of this problem will be significantly contributed by the Network of Specialized Prosecutors and Investigators for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, as well as coordination teams, and their establishment is underway at all levels of government in BiH.
