FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, February 10 (FENA) - Energoinvest Sarajevo and MEPSO Electricity Transmission System Operator of North Macedonia signed 17.3 million EUR contract in Skopje on Friday related to the construction of a 400 kV power line.

The agreement is an important project for MEPSO as it will allow for international connection between North Macedonia and Albania.

According to the company, Energoinvest will operate the project on a turnkey basis, which means that it performs design, procurement of equipment, delivery, execution of works, testing and commissioning of the 400 kV power line going from the Bitola 2 substation (400 / 110 kV), via Ohrid substation (400/110 kV) to the Macedonian / Albanian border. The deadline for construction is 30 months.

The project is funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and is part of a major energy infrastructure project in Europe (Corridor 8) that is to connect Albania and North Macedonia to a network of Mediterranean and other European countries.

Energoinvest has been selected for this job in an international tender in competition with the largest companies in the field.

By obtaining a contract like this one in North Macedonia and projects that are already implementing in Albania, our company confirms that it has the potential and can successfully perform the most demanding projects, and on the other hand opens the possibility for participation in new jobs in the region, stated the Energoinvest.
