ORAŠJE, January 16 (FENA) - Presidency of the Croat National Assembly (HNS), through a debate on local elections at a session held on Thursday in Orašje, reached Conclusion and Decision on the joint participation of the HNS parties in the 2020 local elections. The decision particularly applies to areas where the Croatian people are majority and possibility to be outvoted.
Discussing the topic, party representatives within the HNS also stressed that the formation of all lists would be done by agreement, with the exception being in Croat majority areas. The HNS will go with more candidates and lists in those areas, PR Office of the HNS stated.
The Presidency also discussed amendments to the Election Law, as part of legitimate representation at all levels of government in BiH, highlighting elections in the City of Mostar, legitimate elections to the House of Peoples and the BiH Presidency.
They also discussed finding a solution to hold local elections in Mostar this year, and that the delegations will continue to agree on principles and positions on amendments to the Election Law, taking into account decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH and judgments of the International Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
The proposal for transformation of the FBiH Government was also considered, as well as proposals for abolition of unconstitutional ministries and proposals for formation of new ones as well as the separation of the existing ministries.
The guidelines of the HNS activities in the future period were presented too, along with the constitutional framework of the HNS activities.
According to the discussion, with the amended edition of the guidelines, the Presidency will adopt the final document at the next session, it its said in a statement.
