SARAJEVO, January 7 (FENA) - Defense Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sifet Podžić received today in an inaugural visit EUFOR Commander, Major General Reinhard Trischak to discuss the level and advancement of cooperation between EUFOR and the BiH Armed Forces.
Podžuć welcomed General Trischak and thanked for EUFOR's contribution to peacebuilding and the development of the BiH Armed Forces’ operational capabilities.
He briefed Trischak on the work plans with the expectation that the sending of the Reform Program to NATO headquarters would pave the way for the continuation of the Euro-Atlantic integration process and the implementation of the Strategic Defense Review document in order to improve the operational capabilities of the BiH Armed Forces.
Podžić underlined the great importance of trainings provided by EUFOR, especially in terms of BiH AF participation in peacekeeping missions.
Trischak expressed conviction that the continuity and improvement of cooperation between the AF BiH and EUFOR would be ensured in the coming period, noting that the goal of EUFOR's mission in BiH is to support positive processes.
Also, Trischak praised the level of professionalism of AF BiH members during the implementation of joint activities.
The two also discussed the process of storage and dealing with surplus ammunition and explosives, military demining, as well as other activities implemented by the MoD and AF BiH, stated the BiH Ministry of Defense.
