SARAJEVO, December 16 (FENA) - The Presidency of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) nominated Bisera Turković as future foreign minister at today's session, while Nezir Pivić was nominated as Deputy Minister of Justice, Nedžad Branković as Deputy Minister of Communications and Transport, and Dževad Mahmutović for Deputy Minister of Human Rights and Refugees and Hazim Rančić for the Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury.

As SDA leader Bakir Izetbegović told reporters today, these names have already been submitted to Zoran Tegeltija, the newly appointed Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers.

Background checks procedures and application procedures at the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and the Central Election Commission (CEC) should be completed by December 23, when a new convocation of the Council of Ministers is expected at the session of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.

Izetbegović called on the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ) BiH once again to nominate the candidate for the President of the Federation of BiH without delay, as this is a basic condition for forming a new Government of the Federation of BiH.

He also expressed content with the coalition agreement between the SDA, the Alliance for Better Future (SBB) and the Democratic Front (DF) on the formation of governments in BiH at different levels.

Speaking about the recomposition of the Government in the Sarajevo Canton after the adoption of that coalition agreement, Izetbegović said that the current convocation of the Cantonal Government did nothing significant in the past year.

“For the past 23 years, cantonal governments have been led by the SDA, so it can be clearly stated what has been done, and for this last year, can someone tell me what this team did except they had few good ideas,” the SDA President said.

He announced that he would secure the support of 19 MPs in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, and a minimum of 18 parliamentary votes is required to dismiss this Government, explaining that the Cantonal Government's recomposition should be completed in the next month or two.

The SDA President noted that this party would advocate for increase of the state budget for 2020, which would allow normal functioning and exercise of constitutional and legal competences and obligations.

“All SDA representatives participating in the process of adopting the Global Framework of Fiscal Balance and Policies in BiH for 2020-2022, as well in the budget for next year, will act in this direction,” said Izetbegović, explaining that it is also very important in order to increase salaries for police officers and members of the BiH Armed Forces.
