SARAJEVO, December 1 (FENA) – Party of Democratic Action (SDA) said in a press release that honoring convicted war criminal Slobodan Praljak, Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović has once again shown "her real face and her aggressive intentions toward Bosnia and Herzegovina. "
“Paying tribute to a convicted war criminal means directly insulting the victims of his crimes. In regulated European countries, it is inconceivable that presidents pay tribute to criminals, such as Nazi generals sentenced before the Nuremberg Tribunal. It is obvious that Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović does not respect this basic moral and civilizational rule, and instead of standing in solidarity with victims, she stands in solidarity with their perpetrators,” the SDA said in a statement.
According to SDA, it is important to remind that Praljak was convicted before the Hague Tribunal of participating in a joint criminal enterprise with the aim of dividing Bosnia and Herzegovina and annexing parts of it to Croatia.
Paying tribute to such a figure means sending a very clear political message to BiH, which we understand very well.
President of the Republic of Croatia must know that she will never accomplish what even Praljak and his mentors failed to achieve. The mere fact that she is claiming to do so indicates that she does not want stability and good neighborly relations with BiH. Obviously, the only goal is to get cheap political points, regardless of the damage that her words and actions are always re-establishing confidence among the citizens of the two countries, the SDA stated.
