Izetbegović-Nelson: BiH needs functional institutions for the citizens' benefit

SARAJEVO, November 12 (FENA) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly and SDA Speaker Bakir Izetbegović received today the United States Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Eric Nelson.

The focus of the meeting was the process of convening the new convocation of the Council of Ministers and the Government of the Federation of BiH, as well as the unblocking of the work of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.

The interlocutors agreed that it is of utmost importance for BiH to have functional institutions that work for the benefit of the citizens.

Ambassador Nelson emphasized that it is very harmful for the citizens and the state that the BiH Parliamentary Assembly is not working and that additional effort is needed to put in action the highest legislative body in BiH.

The two agreed that it is of the utmost importance to continue the reforms in order to improve the standard of citizens, strengthen the fight against corruption and give a new dynamic to the path of EU and NATO integration, the SDA stated.
