KUPRES, November 3 (FENA) - The 25th anniversary of the liberation of Kupres and the 13th anniversary of the Day of the Association of the Special Police Unit from the Homeland War were officially marked today.
The ceremony began on Sunday by laying wreaths and lighting candles in front of the Ogledala mass grave and in front of the Suho Polje and Kupreško polje memorials.
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Kupres, a high delegation of the Croat People's Assembly, led by Dragan Čović, attended the event, with officials from the legislative and executive power in BiH.
The operation 'Cincar' was the first joint operation of the Croat Defense Council(HVO) and the Army of BiH after the signing of the Washington Agreement in the spring of 1994.
The operation lasted for three days, from 1 to 3 November 1994, and was an introduction to the ensuing liberation operations.
This operation helped liberate most of the Kupres Plateau, including the town of Kupres, which the HVO entered on November 3, 1994, stated the Croat People's Assembly.
