SARAJEVO, October 2 (FENA) - BiH Council of Ministers Chairman Denis Zvizdić visited the Brčko District of BiH today and met with Brčko Mayor Siniša Milić, Speaker of the Brčko Assembly Esed Kadrić and Deputy Speaker Ivo Filipović.
They discussed economic development, youth perspective and cooperation between the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Brčko District of BiH on development and infrastructure projects.
Chairman Zvizdić said that the Brčko District can be a good example and paradigm of positive political will, good cooperation within political entities, peoples and citizens in order to find the best solutions for development of the Brčko District and to strengthen its economic, social capacities and increase the level of standards of all citizens, especially young people. He stressed that the issue of young people's departure is the biggest macroeconomic problem we face in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the meeting, they discussed the Brčko bypass and the bridge over the Sava River in Brcčko, which is also border crossing point between BiH and Croatia.
“One of the essential elements of economic development is infrastructure, and today we have paid the greatest attention to it. The Brčko District is in a good position and needs to be a part of the construction of the BiH infrastructure network, especially when it comes to construction of highways, expressways and certainly further development of the Brčko Port which can be a significant object within the Danube Initiative or a link with almost 16 Central European countries that can be connected through the Danube and the Sava," said Chairman Zvizdić.
According to the Government of Brčko District, Mayor Siniša Milić said that the state is willing to support, within the budget, with relevant projects that are of interest to the District and BiH.
