SARAJEVO, September 30 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović attended today a commemoration in Paris on the occasion of the death of former French President Jacques Chirac.
Džaferović, along with more than 30 heads of state and governments, paid his last respects at the Saint-Sulpice Church to the former President of the Republic of France, who passed away on September 26 at the age of 86.
“Jacques Chirac will be remembered in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a great friend of our country, who made a strong contribution to the engagement of the international community in stopping the war and later in establishing peace, reintegrating BiH and tracing its EU and NATO paths.
The name of President Chirac will forever remain in history as an honorable name, as he was one of those world leaders who clearly distinguished good from evil,” were some of the words that the BiH Presidency member Džaferović wrote in the book of condolence.
Džaferović also attended a lunch hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Champs Elysees Palace for heads of states and governments.
In a brief conversation with President Macron, Džaferović thanked him for his hospitality, emphasizing that the commemoration was dignified and magnificent, as it was to be for a great man that President Chirac was.
