BIHAĆ, September 20 (FENA) - Bihać Mayor Šuhret Fazlić met today in Bihać with an MP in the European Parliament Bettina Vollath on behalf of the Sozialdemokratische Partei Österreichs (Austria), Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament.
MEP Vollath was interested in the situation in Bihać regarding the migrant crisis and the growing lack of interest of competent institutions to solve the problem of illegal stay of several thousand migrants in Bihać and the Una-Sana Canton in accordance with legal regulations and competencies dealing with illegal migration, the Mayor of Bihać stated.
“So far three MEPs have become involved in the problem of the migrant crisis in our city, and this is a good way for EU officials to position themselves when it comes to solving this problem. We now have someone in the European Parliament that will talk about this issue, and until then, like all these months, or almost two years, we have to solve the migrant problem on our own,” said Mayor Fazlić.
