BiH - Decrease of prices and services by 0.5 percent in June

SARAJEVO, July 28 (FENA) - The prices of consumer goods and services in Bosnia and Herzegovina dropped by 0.5 percent on average in June 2019 as compared to the previous month.

According to the Classification of Individual Consumption According to Purpose (COICOP) prices of alcoholic and tobacco markets increased by 0.1 percent, communications by 0.3 percent, recreation and culture by 0,7 percent and other goods and services by 0.2 percent in June 2019, in comparison with the previous month.

According to data of the Agency for Statistics of BiH, the annual average level of growth in BiH is 0.3 percent. The price level in June 2019 compared with the same month of the previous year was 0.3 percent higher. The average increase in prices was recorded in food and non-alcoholic beverages by 1.1 percent, alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 3.8 percent, housing and direct expenditure by 2.7 percent, health by 1.0 percent, recreation and culture by 1, 6 percent, education by 0.7 percent, and restaurants and hotels by 0.6 percent.

The average price decrease was recorded in clothing and footwear division by 11.8 percent, furniture, household appliances and regular maintenance of the house by 0.6 percent, communication by 0.6 percent, and other goods and services by 0.2 percent.
